The Traditions !

Write about a few of your favorite family traditions.

No tradition is stronger than the ones driven by genes. These get passed thru generation (human life span allows 3 to 4 generations to observe before you turn to ash). Genes ensure some behavior becoming family traditions, our household also has them….

The Late Riser

Traditionally Mr. Scribbling Dad has been a late riser from childhood. He remembers one time sleeping at 5am and waking up at 9pm in the night. Weekend sun rise was a nonexistent thing in life. Now of course ways of world ensures morning fresh air is inhaled almost everyday day.

The kids though have continued the tradition. The world passes by but they sleep thru the morning and weekend sun for them rises only around noon.

Proud ( tears welling up!).

The TV addicts

This tradition is continued from the time when grandmother was young and television made it’s first appearance in the 80’s for Indians. The days of Television thru antenna to cable television thru cables to the days of OTT thru wifi, family has always been addicts.

From grandmother to granddaughters, a timeless tradition!

The aversion to fruits

One more timeless tradition which has passed thru generations. The legacy got carried from grandmother to not only dad but also to uncle (my big brother makes his first appearance in my blog 😀). And both my daughters are protecting the family values by shunning every type of fruit. Dad though has changed and likes fruits now thanks to Mom.

The Dancing genes

Something good that has now become a tradition in the house, thanks to Mom’s passion about dancing. While elder daughter has taken dancing as a fish to pond, younger only also enjoys to break into impromptu jigs time amd again.

Book reading

Another good tradition which has passed from grandmother to dad and now at least limited glimpses in the younger daughter. Grandmother even with her limited education has been a voracious reader throughout her life. One of the favorite acts of Dad is to buy Hindi language novels from grandmother from railway station bookshops ( you should see these shops, will surely fall in love with them!).

May the traditions continue 🙂!
