Random Chronicles of Year End Vacations!

The last couple of weeks have been all about vacation time and then catching the routine rhythm.

It was an interesting vacation for kids as their cousins had also come all the way from USA. What was funny was that the cousins from US being born and brought up there spoke with an US accent and my daughters spoke english in Indian heavy accent with some Indian languages also thrown in. How they communicated is best left to kids, but they became very thick within a week’s time. Lots of tears and miss you’s when they parted ways.

As always happens with kids visiting parents hometown, they were made to see all the places which Mom lived during her childhood (Maternal grandmother’s hometown so Dad had little say 😀). So they visited Mom’s school, places where mom used to hangout, eateries and random nostalgia points. Well, kids actually enjoyed so Mom was also happy!!

Since we were visiting eastern Indian state of Odisha which is famous for temples, kids had a good time visiting these historical and religious places. Additionally world cup of hockey is happening in Capital city of Odisha State in the month of January, which has resulted in a spic and span city!!

Finally time to return and as typical middle class Indians we booked a flight at an ungodly hour. Interestingly the flight attendant was selling Chicken Tikka at 1.30am in the night, dodged that bullet. Landing in home city was well appreciated, no place like home!!
